Parking
Popped in to a client with an antivirus problem today and had to park the old motor somewhere.
The street outside where the office is has parking bays down one side (with a meter), and a single yellow line down the other side denoting parking restrictions – in this case no returning within 1 hour.
Simon parks on the yellow line side (no other spaces yet) – enters the clients office…
Luckily the client has HUGE windows looking out to the street, and I noticed the dreaded wardens cometh.
Not feeling brave enough to challenge the foreseen conflict, I moved the car into the very edge of the parking zone and paid my 60p (for a 1 hour max stay). Wheels just touching the opposing double yellows.
Only to be WARNED that I was “on the  edge of the parking zone” and should move back a little – there was approximately 1 ton of immovable object there – another car!
Further enquires proved that I was correct and the ‘offence’ would only come into effect if I was 1/2 a cars length outside the area.
Smugly walks off…
Job takes 64 minutes…
Jumps in car as warden reappears…
VROOOOOMMMMM!!!!! Off I go…
NO TICKET
In other news, I am looking into using a CMS (Content Management System) for a revamp of this site – Drupal is looking like the favourite, but I’d be interested in any experiences readers have…
