Bzzzzzz

So after being nuked at the hospital and potentially gaining the ability to defrost and cook my own microwave meals with just a glance, I was sent to town (Leeds) to fix and antivirus issue (which I did fix :) )

A journey which necessitates another journey on public transport.
So far this week we’ve done a bus and a train – not bad for someone who hasn’t been rubbing shoulders with the great unwashed for YEARS :D
Lets hope there’s planes involved next week!

Hmm…

This nuking thing said I should drink LOTS (and it was in capitals in the leaflet too) of water to help my system get rid of the radioactive goo.
I should have joined the Uk’s Beijing Olympic team as their star wee’er – If there was such a competition. :D
Not surprising after drinking 2 Litres of water in less than an hour…

I’ve been wondering just why the medical staff have been messing about testing me for stuff and not just simply put me in a pot.
I asked the nurse today.
Apparently it is not unusual to damage the blood supply and/or nerves running up to your thumb, when doing what I have done. Resulting in the loss of use of that most used digit.
That shook me into leaving the wrist alone, doing as I’m told and letting the medics get on and fix me!
(I think ms guys do as they are told if a nurse asks anyway ;) )
I have also gained a rather ugly rash on the left hand side of my injured hand, probably because of the splint thing I have to wear. It looks like something between Eczema and sun burn. Boy does it itch!
Pass the E45 cream…

A quick glace at the clock confirms another late night :D

More lateness

Went to Manchester – did stuff
Came back to the suppliers – picked up stuff
Went to Wakefield – installed stuff (and made the clients day!)
Got home late again :(

Nature of the beast I suppose…

A bit worried about my scan tomorrow. I’ve got to get up early so the sadists at the hospital can irradiate me. I’ll be a huge roastie by lunch time apparently.

For all of you BT fans out there – they’ve just screwed up the install of a new telephone line at a clients. This line was supposed to be a ‘rush’ job. Guess they got the wrong definition of the word rush then.
What a bunch of clowns – I just wish I could yell at the ringmaster!

Time I got my beauty sleep… (it’s going to take lots and lots!)

Commuting

‘Cos of my inability to drive at the moment, this morning started with a commute into Leeds – Train rides at  the start of the day? Thought I’d left them behind in London ;)

Met a new client – system audit report to do (listing their kit)
Back to the train system again – picked up by Tor
Off to Halifax – dead printer :(
Back to the centre of Leeds for a LONG final job – antivirus, spyware clean and a tape drive install

Got home about 20:00!!

Yawn…

All over

Just a few calls in and around the Leeds area today. And a call to the Police after seeing a man carrying a LARGE knife!

The Police responded quite quickly and I hope they got the idiot before any damage was done…

I also managed to get myself soaked too – A badly time wander from a client to meet Tor, resulted in getting caught in a deluge.
I must ask, do women get to go on special courses to learn to be totally unsympathetic? As a mere male I aspire to such levels of cruelty with a cutting sarcastic edge! ;)
A quick trip to BHS sorted me a nice new shirt though, a dry one that is! :D

Had a painful night last night – very little sleep. I’m off to bed :)

Happy Yorkshire day!!

I’ve been a bit lax on the blogging front recently – mainly ‘cos typing hurts!
I’ve finally got my appointment for my nuking – Thursday is the fateful date. I have a feeling that I’ll be able to cook a microwave meal at 40 paces afterwards! ;)

The human race was once described to me as “mobile bags of thinking water” – not a very flattering description perhaps, but one that I can relate to at the moment. I’ve been ferried from pillar to post by the ever suffering Tor.
we’ve done LOTS this week – mainly using Tor’s brawn (if you know her you’ll be laughing now) and my brain.

It would be nice to be wanted for my body, rather than my brain, for once! (preferrably both, but who am I trying to kid??)

Anyhow…

Wisdom from Tor’s niece:
After a conversation about ice turning into water when it melts, she was asked:
“what does water turn into when it boils?”
“A cup of tea!” – was the answer!!
Women!! They start at a younger age each year!!

:D
