Service!

Or a lack thereof!

I have, for the past week, been awaiting the ministrations of a tiler – to place the ceramic delights we purchased on the wall of our bathroom.
So far he’s a week late – with no contact or excuses.
We agreed he’d “sort us out” over the weekend” after he’d popped over this morning to have a look.
I had to call him 10 minutes before he was supposed to arrive, he decided not to bother.
I am hearing this is typical of trades people. :(

I am getting another guy in to do the job tomorrow – Perhaps if this happened more often then the crappy service we all seem to endure would not last.
WE SHOULD COMPLAIN MORE!!!
It’s common courtesy to simply pick up the phone and tell your client if there are any issues – keep people in the loop and they might not be happy but they’ll respect you for it!

I stayed in this morning to accommodate the tiler – what a waste!

Forgot to mention this:
Happy Birthday Baby

Nostalgia

Sometimes, just when you least expect it, there comes along something that reminds you of times gone by.
That happened for me today on two separate occasions.

The first was meeting a new ptential client, sitting down with them whilst the radio was on, and listening to the rock classics from my days as an apprentice electrician in Newcastle!
I could see my younger self, standing there, pool cue in hand…

The second time came as we visited the theatre this evening, they have on a play based on the TV show ‘Monkey’ – those of a certain age should remember this one, a veritable 80s classic.
You know the one – Tripitaka, Monkey, Pigsy and Sandy (if you are a bit lost read this: Monkey)

Ahhh, sometimes you feel REALLY old! (and I’m still young(ish)
