I have been bashing my little head against the mighty wall f Microsoft for about a week, with a stupid little problem with Small Business Server 2003 Premium Edition.

Basically, the internal web stuff didn’t work – that is to say, most of the configuration and reporting tools contained within SBS were not working at all

I managed to figure it out though (eventually!). It seems that the SBS system doesn’t like both service pack 2 (Microsoft official fixes) and the version of SQL it comes with!

I ended up reinstalling ALL of the internal website stuff after applying a patch which had nothing to do with the original error – it just so happened to contain the bits required to get the entire system working correctly

Typical!

Grrr……

Oh, I updated this to version 2.5. It seems to be working correctly, though the new internal interface is going to take time to get used to!
