Feeling kinda sad today – guess it’s the weather!
So far we are having a mental January, a bit of a shock after a quiet December. 
I read big Bill has stuck his neck out again and ‘predicted’ the future of the PC again (BBC Report).
I guess he hasn’t learned his lesson yet! How does Gates shape up as a seer?
He makes me laugh (just wish I had a little of his wealth!)

First few days back and things are going mental! People have again stored up the Christmas problems to land a hammer blow upon their return.

You guessed it BT again!!!!
Scheduled a regrade for an SDSL installation, that is to say a client wanted to upgrade their broadband to a better speed.
All is booked in for Thursday with the BT engineers going to site, a phone call confirms that this is the case.
11:30 on Thursday and the client calls asking if everything was still happening.
Call to BT to verify…
BT HAD CANCELLED THE CALL AND NOT INFORMED ANYONE!!!!!!
This is amazing!!
The story goes, that the engineer(s) had actually gone out on Wednesday instead (not telling either us or the client this was happening!), couldn’t find the site and (apparently) had incorrect contact details for both us AND the client so they could not call (bear in mind that they did have both company names and they do work for BT, who have quite an extensive list of phone numbers).
Instead of attempting to contact someone, they decided instead to go back to the depot. They only decided to cancel the original call on the Thursday morning.
Their incompetence beggars belief!
