Revelations

Some recent revelations in the world according to Roche…

1. It takes approximately 1.5 bags of peanut M&Ms and 1/2 a litre of fizzy pop to make me feel REALLY sick
2. It’s really easy to get carried away with fire and fireworks (and they cost too!)
3. Never trust a girl with a laptop (I’m not giving ANY more away on that one)
4. It’s hard to grow fish from seed

‘Nuff said – Ive felt sick, burned cash (almost literally) and have a small tank full of dead fish.

On the plus side, i did manage to find a nice ex-Next scarf going for cheap (Just a couple of quid!)
It’s long.
And purple.
Should an ex-Next scarf be referred to as a Previous scarf?
Just have to get myself a really bad perm, and the come as Tom Baker from Dr Who for fancy dress, is complete.

Thanks Andy – We had one of these (but I broke it!)

Meets and greets

Popped over to see another potential client yesterday.
They are another manufacturing client – a sector we seem to be getting into more and more!

Anyhow, their current IT support company have grown into something not capable of delivering the stuff the salesmen promise.
Client calls the ‘Support Centre’, they call the engineer, who calls the client, who is asked to call the centre (you get the picture)
Apparently they also promise to come, and don’t!

Another IT company supporting the poor image my chosen industry seems to have gained

I guess we’ll just have to show them how it’s done properly!

Cloning

So I come home after a looooong day…

I WAS looking forward to a short day BUT ended up getting home late – another 12 hour day
Who said this small business thing was easy?
The promise of less hours? I have NEVER worked such long hours in my life!
The promise of easier work? Yeah right, like any of this is EASY!!
The promise of a better way of working? That one is TRUE!!!!
I’d still never go back to working for somebody else – As long as I have a choice that is :D

Those randy little fishes have been at it again – every time we clean the tank, the bloomin’ things get horny!
It must be something in the water ;)
Janice harvested ’bout 30-40 eggs the other day.
We now have 10 little baby fishes and can see probably about 20 more sets of eyes
Lets see how long these last! (We have grown 1 from seed before!)

It’s hard

This networking breakfast thing is hard!

This morning, one of the inmates to our breakfast meeting – and our main competitor there – did a presentation.
Although I thought he’d gone on a little too long, and the subject was rather dry (webstats) it was difficult watching peoples interest in the product AND NOT BEING ABLE TO SAY THAT WE DO THAT TOO!!

The nature of the group (and most networking things) is that you have your assigned area of business that you promote to the group – IT services in our case – but you are allowed to promote all your services once people get interested.
In our case we are not allowed to promote the web side of the business, as there is another website person there.

Frustrating!

Big

It never fails to surprise me just how business works…

We are in negotiation with a client who we first contacted over 18 months ago, for a maintenance contract.
Last time we left it, we said “Get back to us when you are ready”. And they did!
Cool

Also, a photographer contacted us about a client who needed our help. We had helped him out with a problem and so he passed on our details :D

It’s a good thing!

Tomorrow I’m early networking again – this time there are 3 guys we have helped out there, all going to say how wonderful we are.
Time to bask in the pure radiance of our brilliance!!
