After a LOOOONG drive out into the countryside and a quick 30Min fix for a painful bit of spyware today turned into a brilliant day.

Headed off to a client out in the wilds of Yorkshire – Via a rather stupid individual who decided that his wife needed the shock of her life – he pulled out in front of my car, across a dual carriage way. His wife looked SERIOUSLY nonplussed as a big green car screeched to a halt about 1 meter from her door.
Lots of smoking tyres and beeping of horn.
Kinda shook me up too!
Thank the lord for all those years of honing my reactions on those computer games

Got back from my wilderness oddessy to find 2 faxed orders for kit :)

A new Laptop and a server system to ‘play’ with.

Life is good (as long as you can hold onto it )

Oh dear…

Mundo fun rebuilding her work PC – especially so as we have just rebuilt her home PC

The pains of a computer engineer…

Also helped several clients with ‘minor’ hiccups. Minor to us perhaps – major headaches to the clients.
I guess its all just a matter of perspective :idea:

:) Today was quite sweet :)
Just had some internal tech issues to deal with – a good peaceful day.

More wrangling with exotic spyware from a client whose kids are into music.
They keep on downloading ‘crap’ to his PCs – Costing both time and money to clean
(I keep suggesting breaking their finger off )

I guess that will be a nice drive out into the country then :)

Today was kind of strange…

This morning I went to a client to fix several issues – all but one of which proved to be non existant.
Kinda strange, but I like going over there. The people are great!

This afternoon my skills were requested by a client who thought “perhaps something has been tweaked that needs restoring ?”. As it turned out his wireless network connection was woefully inadequate and kept dropping connection and timing out

On to a meeting with a client whom i thought was going to give me an ear bending
Not so!! :)
Actually they simply wanted to discuss a ‘going forward’ plan, as their kit is getting old.
Might even get an order :laugh:

Today was quite a slow day – Good!!!!
After the mad hectic time we’ve had over the recent hot spell it’s nice to slow down for a bit.

Repaired and delivered a couple of PCs and that was the day.

We’ve been plagued with a few memory issues lately – Kingston memory’s q&A procedure seems to have gone up the proverbial spout, as we have had several (read about 6) sticks of memory fail.
2 more in Tor’s PC failed today – good excuse to blame Tor for breaking it though :laugh:

Went to see ‘The DaVinci Code’ tonight, not too impressed. I managed to avoid the book (and thankfully most of the hype) so I tried to go with an open mind.
My mistake.
Seemed like a collection of historical hypothesising mixed with a deep routed suspicion of religion. Not too bad a story though, once you get past all that crap.
Managed to predict most of the ending though
Still – we (my girlfriend and I) got an exclusive showing due to an impressive feat of timing –
TIP: If you don’t like going to a packed cinema, go during Englands games in the world cup

I think I’ll go and dream of a football free world…
