Great day!

I spent today installing another new clients peer to peer network – 2x sexy Vaios, TFTs, cool printer and broadband.
All went well and – if your are reading Ann – I hope you like the systems ;)

In other news – We have had another birth!!
6 new little fishes are learning to swim in the ‘spare’ tank (soon to be known as the birthing pool).
I really think we need to arrange other persuits for our big fishes ;) Maybe a hobby or two…

Bedtime!!

Sometimes all it takes…

Sometimes all it takes is a little communication!
Clients (quite rightly) going mad at the potential amount of work required to upload the data to their new website – this would potentially run to several man-days data entry :(

We simply set up a meeting – demonstrated that huge amounts of data could simply be cut ‘n’ pasted from existing systems and…

:) HAPPY CLIENT AGAIN :)
Not rocket science really is it?

As to the mood of ‘Worried’?
Tor is away for the rest of the week – Can I cope on my own?
All bets are off…

(for those of you who have not had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Tor – She is my business partner and the sane one in the crew ;) )

Nighty night…

Good week

That was quite a good week :)
Until the tax office phoned with a query :(
Turned out ok though – I had made a mistake :(
Oops…

Bedtime…

Bad news

I had to actually admit defeat today :(
For the first time in ages i couldn’t manage to revive a clients hard disk from the valley of death :(
:( I had to inform the parents of the deceased – never a good moment :(

Still – the PC in question (not one of ours) has constantly caused problems from time to time. It is a good time to wave bye bye to the old girl – introduce a new baby to the household :)

It was quite a nice call to get, as it came from one of our first clients after moving back home from down south. It’s nice when you realise the clients you have value your services and stick with you.

Also managed to perform my usual trick of things working perfectly when i touch them.
At one of the new installs i did the other day, the existing printer they have decided to print garbage over several pages. It did this several times, whilst Tor was on the phone.
I get to site and open the offending document – perfect!! NFF (Not fault found).
Got bashed by the client for making them look like liars ;)

:D This happens to me ALL the time :D
:D And always makes me laugh :D

I hope I didn’t upset you too much Josephine ;)

New stuff

I like installing new systems :) – there is something about giving a complete system over to a client, makes me feel like Santa on Christmas day :D

It holds a extra special glow when the client has none or little I.T. equipment too – taking businesses into the 21cy and standing amused as the client realises he can share printers, internet connections etc etc…

:) Makes he happy :)

Guess i’m just an old sentimentalist at heart

2 new systems this week – one new startup business and one existing business who had a need for a more up to date, networked system.

If you are reading this Andrew and Kelly – I hope you like your stuff!!

More to do…

Simon
