Only for client data transfer purposes you understand

Popped into a clients to see about some online banking errors – Fortunately just spam email – and left with an order for another Vaio

Took a good 33 hours but it works!!

Also gave them a WAMP (Windows, Apache, MySQL, PHP) server to ‘play’ with – internal bulletin board and web based support system anyone?

:) Managed to import all the user accounts !!!! :)
That might sound like a tiny step forward but not when you realise there are over 1000 of them – imagine typing all those users in :razz:
2 minutes per user = 33 hours work
Took just 5 minutes to import them.

Still, not all good one of the old servers decided to fall out of the domain (for no apparent reason) – time for an OS rebuild then

Off to do something productive…

More playing with the biggie domain today…

Got the additional servers into the domain yesterday and installed several clients to test connectivity and the like – PERFECT !! – (like there was any doubt! )

Finally need to link the other network in.

Then the joy of the clients can begin :)

Tried to import the original domain accounts yesterday too – they trashed the domain – how we LOVE Miscrosofties and their destructive procedures

Client ordered a new processor for his server – cant build server without it.
The big day approaches for the rebuild – “the kit is on a ‘pre 12 delivery’ sir”…
Time for eating rolls around, no prcessor
Calls to courier, supplier and finally Dell…
Guess what?
Dell have the part on back order – “be with you (next) Monday…”
I guess I’ll just leave the server unable to be used then – and tell all the good people relying on the systems just to have a week off eh?
Needless to say processor order cancelled – Later that day Dell rep comes wheedling (this client is a BIG user of Dell kit) – Not anymore
Oh dear :rolleyes:
Still they now have a shiny new domain to play with… :)
A happy ending – now if we could just rebuild the other 2 servers and introduce the 1000+ user accounts…
